How to structure your website for easy and automated SEO.
These best practices will help ensure that your site is easily recognized by Google and other search engines.
1. These URLs are search engine friendly.
You have probably visited a website whose URL looked something like this.
It’s a disaster!
These URLs can confuse site visitors and search engines quickly. Clear URLs are easier to use, more user-friendly and search engine friendly.
Here’s an example of a clean URL
Google’s search engine results are easy to see. A large number of top 10 sites have clear and easily readable URLs, such as the one above. This is a very large percentage. It’s the vast majority.
Many site content management systems include search engine friendly URLs. It’s often as simple as enabling this option in your site settings. It’s time to have a chat with your web developer if your site does not have search engine friendly URLs.
The possibilities of how you structure your site’s navigation are endless. This can either be a blessing, or a curse.
Visitors may be required to view an intro or animation before they can access the site. This makes it more difficult for visitors to access the real content and confusing for search engines.
Some sites have a simple menu that runs along the top or the left-hand side. This is a standard industry practice for most websites.
This standard makes it much easier for search engines and visitors to find your site. You must be aware that if you break this convention, it will likely make it more difficult for search engines to find all pages on your site.
Google makes it simpler for users, which is a good rule of thumb.
Your web site navigation should be based on text links and not images.
Your main site navigation may be made up of images. Get your web designer to change it to text. Google and other search engines will almost never see your internal pages if you don’t have the main navigation in text.
You can increase your SEO by including links to pages that you wish search engines and users to see on the homepage.
Google’s search engine spider can quickly identify which pages are most important and worthy of inclusion in search results by placing relevant links on the homepage.
How to get Google to pick up your keywords
Many misconceptions exist about how to optimize keywords for your site.
Some bloggers tell their readers not to put keywords in targeted pages’ content. I won’t name names, but these bloggers have the best intentions. They are concerned about Google’s spam detection. It is madness.
Google will not be able to find your page if it does not have keywords. Google would not be a good search engine if it removed keywords from pages.
It’s simple, think about it. It’s unlikely that you will find what you are looking for if you search for Ford Mustang 65 Auto Parts and get pages with no such words.
Google must see your keywords, which means that they should be visible to users. You can either create content that revolves around your keyword or weave your keyword naturally into your page. This is not a recommendation for your page to look exactly like this.
“Welcome, NFL jersey store. We have a huge selection of NFL jerseys for you, including men’s NFL Jerseys, women’s NFL Jerseys and children’s NFL Jerseys.
This strategy may have worked 10+ years ago but it is not working now. Your page should have the keyword naturally. Any attempt to make your keywords appear crazy will be a red flag and could result in spam filters being activated by search engines. Your keyword should be used throughout your content. It is sufficient to repeat your keyword at least once.
It is really easy.
Next, ensure that you include a few LSI keywords on each page. LSI stands to Latent Semantic Indexing. LSI keywords are an SEO term that refers to related phrases. Google considers a page more natural and likely to be of higher quality and relevance if it includes related keywords to your main keyword.
You must have your main keywords and any related keywords on the page in order to optimize it. You should find two to three keywords that are related to your main keyword, and then repeat them in the page one or two times each. LSIGraph can be used to find keywords Google considers related your main keywords. To find the most related keywords, you can use LSIGraph with your keyword research.
You can incorporate keywords into pages in the following areas:
– Meta description tags and meta title tags
– Navigation anchor text
– Navigation anchor title tag tags
– Headings (h1,h2,h3,and h4 tags).
– Content text
– Italicized and bold text
– Content links within the content
– Image filename. Image alt tag. and image title tag
– Video filename, title
How to get more people to click on your Google rankings.
Meta tags are often misunderstood by SEO professionals as obscure pieces of code that they use to achieve top rankings. It is impossible to be more wrong.
Meta tags are very simple in their function. Meta tags are code that you place on your website to control how it appears in Google.
Google will use text from your website to create your search listings if you don’t complete your meta tags. Google will use text from your site to create your search listing. This is what you don’t want Google doing. These tags can be filled in correctly and will increase traffic to your site via search engine results.
Here is an example of the code for meta tags.
<span class=’wordai-block rewrite-block’ data-id=’71’>Paul’s NFL Jerseys</span>
Here’s an example of how the meta tag above should be used to show up as a Google search engine result:
Paul’s NFL Jerseys
Order Paul’s NFL jerseys online. Large selection of sizes and colors. No delivery charges and no returns International orders are accepted!
Pretty simple, huh?
Google has a limit of 70 characters for the title tag. Google may remove your title tag from search engine results if it exceeds 70 characters.
Meta description tags can contain up to 155 characters. Google will reduce the length of your listing, just like the title tag.
Google can use the last meta robots tag to indicate that you want to control how your listing appears within search results. While it is unlikely that Google will ignore your tags, it is good to include these tags.
These tags can be changed on your website using three options
1. Make sure you use the software that your site was built on. These tags can be modified in most content management systems. You may need an SEO plugin to modify these tags if it doesn’t.
2. Talk to your web designer or developer to have your Meta tags manually changed.
3. You can modify the HTML tags if you’re a tech-savvy person who is familiar with HTML.
Site load speed–Google magic dust.
Google takes into account how fast your site loads when ranking your pages in search results.
Matt Cutts, Google’s former head for web spam, has publicly acknowledged that fast loading speeds are a positive ranking factor.
Your site may not be performing well in search engines if it is slow. An easy way to improve your SEO is to increase the site’s load speed if it is not too slow.
Load speed is a key factor in Google’s top rankings. Industry reports show that for every second a site is shortened, the site conversion rate increases by 7%. This means that the site’s load speed is a major factor in determining whether people will complete a sale or fill out an enquiry form. Your site’s load speed should not be neglected.
Each site is unique and has a variety of server configurations. This means that improving load speed is not as easy as following a checklist. The following are simple improvements that can be applied to most sites.
