Obligation to file the IES extended to marketplaces and search engines | Lexology

On 21 May 2021, the Italian media regulator (“AGCOM”) published the Resolution No. 161/21/CONS amending Resolution No. 397/13/CONS of 25 June 2013 on the “Economic Information System”. The obligation to disclose by 31 July each year detailed information on the revenues generated in Italy and associated costs of the previous year is extended to provider of online intermediation services as defined in Regulation EU No. 2019/1150 of 20 June 2019  (on promoting fairness and transparency for business users of online intermediation services and search engines) and to search engines. The  resolution also contains provisions on data from statutory and consolidated financial statements to be disclosed to the regulator.
